ICIS (India’s state registrar) is set the domain registration for the country.
The service will offer an array of services ranging from domain registration to domain management, according to a report in The Times Of India, a daily newspaper owned by India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
ICIS’ new service will include the domain name registrar registration for a wide range of companies, which will be available to anyone.
The company is also working on the domain registry for the online shopping portal Flipkart, according the report.
The company is looking for domain names in various categories such as: restaurants, retail, real estate, IT services, and entertainment, it said.
The list of companies will be made public on Monday, it added.
A company called ICIS.com, which is registered to a company called ‘ICIS’, is looking to register the domain registrant name for a company in Bengaluru.
According to the company’s website, it will offer “global domain registration” for the city.
The news comes amid a trend of the country’s government to roll out a range a number of services to improve the quality of life.
The government announced in May that it is rolling out an online portal that will help citizens manage their financial accounts and other financial services.
