A Czech website registered for the domain name “dreamhost.cz” on Friday will be available for sale by Monday, the company said.
The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union.
Dreamhost, which is part of an international consortium that manages the registration of domain names for web hosting, said it had been working on the domain for two years.
Dreamhost’s parent company, Global Hosting Group Inc., has been a major supplier of domain registration services to businesses, including in China and India.
DreamHost said in a statement that the Czech Republic would be among the first countries to have its domain name registered by the company.
The domain name for “dream.cz,” which was registered by Global Host.cz, will be accessible by Monday.
Dream Host said the Czech government has expressed interest in registering the domain.
DreamHost is working on a new website to host the domain, the statement said.
The Czech Republic plans to introduce the new domain name to the public on March 6, according to DreamHost.
The company said it would continue to cooperate with the Czech authorities in their efforts to promote the domain’s use in the country.
