Rackspace, the online domain name registry, said Monday it is offering free domain registration for Australians who sign up for its free domain registry service.
“Rackspace is excited to announce that you can register your domain name with us for free and use it to create your very own unique website and personalised blog for your business or website,” the company said in a blog post.
The domain registrar said its service is available to Australian residents and businesses who are members of Rackspace Australia, which has a registration centre in Sydney, and is operated by a small team of employees.
RackSpace’s free domain registrations allow individuals and businesses to create websites and personalise their websites with a logo, a business name and even a company name.
It said its free registration option is a simple one.
“All you need to do is sign up to our domain registry, create your domain, and then go to the Register Now page and you’ll have your domain instantly available for free,” it said.
“To access the site and personalize your website, you just need to create a new account.”
A Rackspace spokesperson confirmed to CBC News that its service allows individuals and small businesses to register and personalises websites and websites.
“You’ll have all of your information, photos, logos, videos, and other information available for your personal use.
So that you don’t have to worry about managing your own business or your own website.
The process is very simple and you can choose your personalised domain name, your unique logo and all of the details and information you’d like to see,” it wrote in an email to CBC.
A spokesperson for Rackspace said the free registration offer is a first step in building an international network of domains.
“We’re offering a free registration service for Australians to help them create their very own website, business or personalised website, and it’s something that we know our customers are looking for and are happy to provide,” the spokesperson said.
